Rueil-Malmaison (France), June 30, 2010 - Schneider Electric has been chosen to upgrade the video surveillance equipment at the Drouot auction house in Paris (France).
As part of an extensive rethink of its operating practices initiated in December 2009, Drouot has adopted numerous measures to enhance the level of security and transparency it offers to the tens of thousands of collectors and enthusiasts who visit the auction house every year. By proposing an integrated system for management of indoor security at Drouot, Schneider Electric has positioned itself as the market player capable of delivering comprehensive, open-ended building security solutions.
" Schneider Electric is pleased to be involved in upgrading Drouot's video surveillance system ", said Frédéric Abbal, Country President, Schneider Electric France. " The allocated technologies will ensure that the equipment supplied to Drouot is easy to use and flexible. This open solution will enable system extensions, at a later stage, for a simple integration related systems of energy management, access control, HVAC... "
Schneider Electric will provide Drouot with a comprehensive video surveillance system comprising more than 120 2.1 megapixel extended platform high-definition IDE20 integrated cameras with SarixTM technology from Pelco by Schneider Electric. These fixed dome cameras will be connected to a network-based Endura digital video system with graphical user interface and secure RAID6 recording. The Endura system enables users to manage data flows from anywhere in the network and it can be extended to include an infinite number of cameras, within the limits of the network resources provided.
Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, is also world leader in video surveillance systems. By combining security solutions with building management services, the Group offers its unique and differentiating expertise to optimize installations, modernize them cost effectively, reduce maintenance costs and energy consumption in the frame of enhanced comfort and security.
