Rueil-Malmaison (France), July 11, 2012 – On Thursday, July 5th, Schneider Electric met 330 "Preferred Suppliers" from 30 different countries for a day of networking and dialogue in Paris. Now an annual meeting in the business calendar, the event gave Schneider Electric a platform to talk about growth opportunities. It also encouraged sharing of best practices, with particular focus on supplier innovation proposals, as well as ways of implementing these innovations in a spirit of true partnership.
According to René Orlandi, Chief Purchasing Officer at Schneider Electric, "This was an amazing opportunity for Schneider Electric to bring together so many high-performance suppliers and share best practices, individual developments, progress and future goals. Suppliers are the cornerstone of Schneider Electric's business development strategy and we think that it is crucial to build a close dialogue with them - as our partners."
During the event, Jean-Pascal Tricoire, President and CEO of Schneider Electric, presented the company's global strategy and explained how Schneider Electric's suppliers fit into this vision under the new company program Connect. As Jean-Pascal Tricoire explains: "Establishing lasting relationships with our suppliers is central to our development strategy. Our projects are a collaborative effort. And this kind of event is therefore an unmissable opportunity for dialogue."
The day drew to a close with the awarding of eleven prizes to the top-performing suppliers in each market, as well as in the following performance categories: quality of supplies, service level, productivity, competitiveness, innovation, sustainable development and responsiveness. Selected to encourage best practice, these criteria also aim to develop a cohesive and coherent relationship between Schneider Electric and its suppliers.
