    Schneider Electric kondigt de oprichting aan van een Algerijns-Frans "center of excellence" voor de opleiding van beroepen in energie en elektriciteit

    • A centre within the framework of a partnership between the Algerian Ministry for Vocational Training and Education, the French Ministry for National Education, for Education and Research and Schneider Electric

    Rueil-Malmaison (France), December 4, 2014 – Schneider Electric today announced the signature of a three-way partnership agreement with the Algerian Ministry for Vocational Training and Education and the French Ministry for National Education for Education and Research. The agreement relates to the implementation of an Algerian-French centre of excellence for training in the energy and electricity trades. It was signed at the Hotel Matignon (Paris), in the presence of Amar Bendjama Ambassador of Algeria in France, Geneviève Fioraso, Secretary of State for Education and Research, Akli Brihi, Executive Country President of Schneider Electric Algeria and Gilles Vermot Desroches, Sustainability Senior Vice-President of Schneider Electric and Managing Director of the Schneider Electric Foundation. This signature took place in the presence of the Algerian Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellat and the French Prime Minister Manuel Valls.

    A centre of excellence for technical training
    In the context of major worldwide technological change, the agreement is the result of a common aim to develop high-level initial and continuing training in the field of energy and electricity.

    The agreement is one of the measures put in place by the Ministry for National Education to create a network of centres of excellence for technical training abroad. It also extends the joint declaration of intent signed in Algiers on December 16, 2013, by the Algerian Ministry for Vocational Training and Education, the French Ministry for National Education, for Education and Research and Schneider Electric Algeria, to promote vocational technical education and training in the energy and electricity sector. The agreement enables:

    • the deployment of new teaching strategies through the development of long-term relationships between training institutions and companies;
    • participation in the creation of strategic training channels in the fields of energy and electricity;
      dissemination of high-quality expertise for teachers and trainers;
    • participation in the modernization of technical teacher training and the adaptation of curricula to take into account of the latest technologies;
    • the improvement of access to employment for young people in educational or social difficulty in the electricity and energy trades.

    This centre of excellence, set up in Rouiba in premises provided by the Algerian Ministry for Vocational Training and Education, will train teachers, trainers and young technicians in cutting-edge technical skills. Schneider Electric Algeria will provide them with teaching equipment and materials, as well as the experience required to develop the courses provided. An expert specialized in the energy and electricity sector will be mandated by the French Ministry for National Education to provide technical and teaching expertise.
